Sending new believers on outreach

Sharing God’s love with the people of Central Asia is why we’re here, in a nutshell, so you can imagine our excitement at being involved in the training of  local believers to share the Good News with others.

This year our national outreach was certainly a challenge!  More people went, the training was harder to organise as it was in 3 languages with almost entirely local trainers, the hardships encountered were stronger (rioting in one country, severe restrictions in another and even physical opposition in another) and yet so many people heard about God’s love for the first time,  everyone is enthusiastic to do it all over again next year, with even more involvement from our local coordinators.

We’re also trying something new this year… there are a few places where we would like to send a small team of local believers for 6 months to a year, so they can encourage and disciple the new believers in those areas.  One place is so high in the mountains, the food doesn’t even cook properly, yet one of the team leaders has a heart for the people living there.  Another place is closed to news about God’s love, yet a family would like to move there despite opposition they may face.  The third place is a country without even the pretence of religious freedom.  We are hoping to find the right people to send to these places, to mentor the new believers there and spread the light of God’s love even further in Central Asia.
