Mentoring believers “It took me a while to observe that some of the new believers were reading the Word in the same way that they read the Qur’an – as if the verses were magical and it would be good luck to learn or memorise them. It was a beautiful thing to watch realisation dawn in their lives that the living God was actually speaking to them. I saw them grow in eagerness to read the Bible and they learned that God’s word was important for instruction in godliness. Because of the rote method of learning so many subjects in Turkey, it was easy for new believers to memorise Scripture but then to teach them to meditate on it as well was so rewarding.” - Alisa, 35
